Introduction:
How do you make the best choice with your hard earned money when you need to buy a computer?
Brief Reasoning:
Low cost netbooks are the smallest, very light weight, easy to stow away and carry, has WIFI, networked, but is very limited and slows down when it comes to running most common large applications. Netbooks are great if all you need is a basic online connection for email and taking notes.
Some notebooks and mini-laptops are priced just above the netbook cost and a performance notebook may go 2 to 4x of a netbook cost and have larger displays, more computing power, memory, disk space, is larger to carry in a backpack, takes more power and battery life is typically a few hours. Notebooks are typically designed with a price point, to match performance with a range of moderate to good capability and may perform very well for most of today's user application needs. A good notebook can easily do most any computing that is needed with reasonably good performance and has the advantage of complete under-the-arm computer portability and fits on top of your lap or any flat surface top.
Desktop computers range from very small to large boxes that are designed to run off AC wall power and left in a fixed location at a personal workspace-desk or area in a cabinet as an application server. Desktop costs range as low as a netbook and typically are at a lower cost than a notebook with similar capability. For the best value, one can usually find a much higher performance computer, more CPU, RAM, disk space, powerful graphics, have fast responding applications, for games, video image processing, and video phones. Overall, the desktop computer is the best choice if portability is not required.
Conclusion:
A person buying a computer today wants to use their money carefully when investing in computer technology to get the most value and have a satisfying experience and a long time benefit.
It's clear that a performance desktop computer system is a much better choice than most laptops for fixed location applications. However if portability is mandatory and good performance is needed a more expensive notebook (laptop) is a best fit. If you need it all, high performance and portability, very light weight and small are mandatory and basic computing is fine then a buy both a netbook for the portability and a main fixed high performance desktop computer to get the best experience and benefits of fast application performance computing of from desktop and the ease of mobility with a netbook.

Netbook-Mini Laptop Reviews - Asus Vs Acer Vs Samsung
The netbook/mini laptop market is currently dominated by three brands; Asus, Acer and Samsung. Many of the netbooks from these three brands have almost identical specs yet some models have proven to be more popular than others. Here is a quick review of the devices from each of the brands.
Asus Eee PC: Asus netbooks are currently leading the market for many reasons. For one, it was the one of the first companies to come up with a range of affordable mini-laptops. Secondly, its devices currently have some of the best specs in the market. The Asus Eee PC 1000HE and the 1008HA are currently the only models in the market that uses the 1.66GHZ Intel Atom N280 processor. The 1000HE also currently have the best battery lifespan in the market, lasting up to 9.5 hours on one charge.
Acer Aspire One:With almost identical specs, Acer has manage to differentiate itself in terms of design and pricing. It is currently one of the cheapest netbook series in the market. In term of designs, I must say that it is a little better looking the Asus devices and it also comes in a variety of colors (black, white, blue, red and pink).
Samsung Netbooks:Samsung netbooks are not the cheapest in the market and neither are they the most powerful. Despite that, they are currently some of the most expensive netbooks in the market. Samsung has managed to carve a niche for itself by making some of the best-looking netbooks in the market. The glossy blue NC10 has been on the best-seller's list for a long time now, mainly for its good looks (in my opinion). Other models such as the NC110 and the NC120 also sport very streamlined and sleek good looks.

Stylish White Netbooks - Samsung N120-12GW 10.1 Inch Netbook Review
Personally, I think any personal tech gadgets are fashion accessory so it won't hurt to pick a stylish one that best matches your personality. White laptops and netbooks have the rage for the past couple of years, more than any other colors due to the fact that they look modern, clean and just pure chic.
The Samsung N120-12GW netbook is currently one of the most stylish white netbooks in the market. Unlike many other 10.1-inch netbook models, this is an all-white model. The keyboard, mouse track pad, palm rest, sides, front, back and rear of this netbook is all white in color. It is very slim, measuring at 10.7 x 7.4 x 1.2 inches and weighing just 2.8 pounds.
The Samsung N120-12GW netbook also comes in black, but it doesn't look nearly as good as white one. It has almost all the latest specs a netbook can have, like a 1.6Ghz processor, 1GB RAM, a 160GB hard drive, 3 USB Ports, Bluetooth and wi-fi capabilities. When it was first launched, this model was little more expensive than usual but now, it costs around $350 each. That's about the average price of netbooks.
One of the highlights of the Samsung N120-12GW netbook would have to be its amazing keyboard. Samsung has managed to design the keyboard to feel very much like a full sized keyboard. It was very comfortable to type on. This model also comes with 2.1 speakers that is a major selling point for this model. The two main speakers are located on the sides. The sub-woofer is located on the left edge of the netbook. All in all, the Samsung N120-12GW netbook scores very well whether it is in the looks department or performance. It will make one of the best buys if you are looking for a stylish white netbook.

Is Notebook A Better Choice Than Desktop?
If internet made the world a global village, then we might as well say that notebooks made it a global colony. With desktops, things were a click away from us; notebook shorted the distance. Now we can carry the global colony on our shoulder. High-end technology at your lap, perhaps, we need nothing to conquer the world of convergence.
The great advantage of notebooks is that it gives us a sense of portability and mobility. Looking critically, portability is the only feature, a notebook has over desktops then why do we choose to go for a notebook? Notebooks can let you carry your work conveniently and you do not have to worry about all the wires, hardware and space required to keep a desktop. Also it's a matter of choice between work and home. You may want to work from home, when your baby or wife is ill. A notebook comes in handy then.
A notebook has a different role to play for different people, but it gives an incredible sense of freedom. Gone are the days when people walked around with pen and paper. All you need to do today to make notes it to buy a notebook. You may want to quickly write a email to a radio station, which is making noise in the name of music. You may want to sit in your neighborhood coffee shop and write a book or letter. But if you want to carry your notebook everywhere you go, you have to consider the weight of the machine too. A notebook weighs between 5 to 10 pounds; an ultralight model is even lighter. Whereas, a desktop computer, with its standalone CPU, monitor, and keyboard, weighs in at about 70 pounds. A notebook takes much lesser space too and is very convenient.
Some of the most famous notebooks are Sony Vaio, Apple MacBook, Dell Latitude, Toshiba, HP. Also there are many affordable versions of notebooks marketed by companies like Fujitsu, Panasonic, IBM, Asus and etc.
Let's look at a scenario where at a school, students are quietly seated at their desks and working on a class assignment with no teachers to guide them. It's real, and is happening in many schools around us. Now, we don't have to mourn looking at our tiny ones carrying pounds of baggage in their backs. Notebook has it all, from their books to assignment copies.
When we look at the productive side of the picture, we would promptly realize that a notebook is always a wise choice for an employer too. It makes his or her employees to achieve more productivity at work. It saves critical office space. At any crucial moment, a notebook can help you to do the work, even when you are not physically present in the office. When the traffic is high, and your boss is waiting for presentation in a conference room, a notebook comes to the rescue. A desktop PC does not give all this freedom for a good worker.
A research says that employees with notebooks work more than those companies with desktop PCs. A notebook enables you to work from anywhere, while traveling, from a beauty parlor, or while waiting for someone at a shopping mall. And the only disadvantage a notebook has is its safety, unless you doubly assure it from theft. It's easy to pick and elope for anyone at a busy commercial place. So, ensure the safety of your costly gadget that makes you feel the world is at your feet and enjoy the power of technology.

What Kind Of Notebook Is Right For You?
Notebooks are not just notebooks, there are a couple of different ways to do it. We are talking about the computer kind of notebook and the old fashioned kind that is made out of paper. They both have some definite pros and cons. If you want to be organized and you want to get your thoughts down on paper then you need one of these two types to work with. They will make everything neat and orderly and easy to manage.
The computer notebook is a great buy. It is obviously a more expensive buy but one that can do so many different things. This kind of computer can be carried with you to work and home and anywhere else that you need to take it. They are compact and light and each year they get lighter and m ore powerful.
There was a time when notebook computer screens were not very good but these days they are fantastic. No longer do people who use them have to worry about getting headaches or eye strain. They are so much smoother to look at and there are not more of those strange computer waves to have to contend with! The screens are also very bright and the colors are fantastic and true to life.
On a computer notebook you will be bale to write whatever you need to write each day, whether it is for work or for pleasure. You will also be able to manage your calendar and your schedule with ease. Most computers come with programs that will help you to keep track of all aspects of your life from important business meetings to your kids soccer games. These programs are powerful and simple to use. Then of course you have the ability to go online. The internet is a great place for you to go shopping for anything from groceries to fancy clothes and accessories. You could find yourself saving hundreds of dollars each and every year by shopping online instead of offline.
As you can see the notebook as a computer is a great idea that everyone can benefit from, but what about the old fashioned kind of paper notebook? These are great too. They are not able to do quite so many things however. Of course a paper book will not have any programs that you can use and it will not have any ability to go on the internet.
A paper notebook can however help you to plan anything that you need to plan. They come with calendars and schedulers that can be just as efficient to use as any other kind.
A top benefit of using these kinds of notebooks is for writing. When you write longhand the ideas flow better and faster. Your imagination is going to flow so much better when you are writing by hand as compared to writing on a computer. There is something that the pen in hand does for the mind that cannot be accomplished with a computer notebook.

Notebook Or a Desktop Computer?
Most people understand what a computer is and does, but choosing between a notebook and desktop computer might not be the easiest thing. Below are a few things to consider when choosing between the two.
Expense: One of the biggest factors for any purchase is price. Notebook and desktop computers have different prices, even for those with comparable features. Since notebooks are smaller, they require more engineering that desktops to produce smaller components, which then raises their prices. Different brands have different prices, even though they might have similar features. It pays to do some research in the beginning so that you will know if you are paying more for features or a name.
Portability: Desktop computers are intended to be permanent, not to move around from place to place like a notebook. While it is not the hardest thing to move a desktop form one location to another, it certainly is not the easiest task either. Even though notebooks are intended to be portable, their ease of portability can vary. Notebooks with larger screens and longer battery lives tend to be bulkier and harder to move around. There are very small notebooks out there that have great portability, but you sacrifice performance features of some of the larger ones.
Screen Size: The size of the screen on our notebook or desktop computer should relate to your intended uses. Normally, larger screen size will increase the price of the computer. A desktop computer will normally come with a larger screen than a comparably priced notebook would. Desktops also have a larger variety of screen types and upgrades to choose from than do notebooks.
Ability to upgrade: Some people are interested in purchasing a more basic computer with the intention of upgrading it over time. If that is the case, a desktop would prove to be a more suitable choice. While you can upgrade a laptop, upgrading a desktop is a little easier.
Shipping Cost: If you intend to purchase your computer online, then you will probably face shipping or handling charges of some kind. While many depend on the cost of the computer, some will go by weight. Therefor it might be worth considering those costs when deciding between a desktop and notebook computer.
So to sum it up, there are several things to consider when you are choosing between a desktop and notebook. Your budget will have a large effect on what you will get. If you have a limited budget, then you might get more bang for your buck with a desktop. On the other side, if you have a more flexible budget then you will have more options between a notebook and desktop. Portability is pretty simple. Notebooks are portable, but desktops aren't. Desktops typically have larger screen sizes for a lower cost than do notebooks. Desktops typically allow for easier upgrades. If you are to have your computer shipped, then choosing a notebook could save you some money.

Mini Laptop Computers - Three Tips on Mini Notebook Laptops
When you are in the process of buying a small travel computer, I have a view tips in this short article.
Tip 1
The laptop size is important. As you are a CPA it is very useful to have a 17" inch screen. For normal email, MSN or Skype use, a small screen is more than enough. The power of the new mini laptops increased dramatically.
Tip 2
If you select a mini laptop you should review the comments of users. For instance the service of Acer is much better than from Asus. Acer has a far more friendly service department. For a little bit more money Apple with their Apple Care Program offers you the utmost reliability if it service related.
Tip 3
With the strict cargo regulation of airlines nowadays the little computer is very useful, because of its weight and size you can put it in your hand luggage.
With the quality of the screen and the speed of the processor you can easily see a movie on a continental flight.
With an extended battery you have up to six hours of computer use, so next to the video you can do also some work aboard the plane.
On the keyboard: For all the netbook computers it is too small. It is a matter of training your fingers to be familiar with the small keys and slightly different layout.
You make more errors regardless your typing capability. I advise you to use one of those small traveling mouses, as the mouse pad on the keyboard is a real hassle.
The best in class keyboard is the Apple Macbook Air.
There is a lot more to say about the new very popular small computers, but as often is said 'word of mouth' is the most important reference guide.
So I advise you to visit my website by clicking Read More if you want to know more about the New Mini Laptops?
You will find reviews on the following brands: Acer, Apple, ASUS, HP, Lenovo, MSI, Samsung, Sony, Toshiba. There are also video reviews you can watch to find out more about a specific brand netbook.

A Buyer's Guide to Notebook Computers
Buying notebook computers can be a daunting task for many consumers, but one can avoid the pitfalls by following a few common sense rules and understanding what each component does and why it is important. The first step is to decide what the notebook computer will be used for as that will have a major influence on later decisions. Notebook computers used for simple tasks cost less money than those used for gaming and more advanced needs such as video editing and photo manipulation. Also decide how big the notebook computer should be at this stage.
Notebook computers come in a wide range of sizes, ranging from tiny netbooks that are under an inch thin to monstrous powerhouses with screens in excess of twenty inches when measure diagonally. The best rule of them here is to only look at notebook computers that one is comfortable taking on the road, but are not too small to be ineffective. After all, what good are notebook computers that have screens too small to read?
After selecting a general range of screen sizes, it is time to look at the pixels. A pixel is a tiny dot on the screen that can change colors, and grids of thousands of pixels work together to display what end users see on their screen. The more pixels in a given space will result in sharper image quality, but also in higher prices more often than not. Of course, notebook computers with gorgeous screens need a graphics chip to render all those lovely images, windows, DVDs, games, and so on.
Graphics chips come in two varieties: discrete and integrated. Discrete are generally far more powerful, and have their own dedicated pool of memory but may also draw some additional memory from the system RAM. Integrated graphics are generally less powerful, and always use system RAM for their tasks. A general rule is that games, video editing, and image manipulation software all tend to take advantage of discrete graphics, while everyone else is probably better off saving their hard earned money on other features that notebook computers have to offer.
One of those features is memory, often called RAM. Notebook computers, like desktop computer need lots of memory if they are going to be tasked with handling multiple and/or complicated programs. RAM is measured in gigabytes, and it is important to know that systems with more than 4 gigabytes of RAM need 64-bit operating systems to reach their full potential.
Don't forget to factor in the CPU. Low-end notebook computers may feature either single or dual core CPUs and may be either 32- or 64-bit. It makes little sense to buy a 32-bit CPU today as the 64-bit era is upon us. It is only a matter of time before 32-bit applications are a thing of the past.
Rounding things out are the storage and networking options. CD/DVD/Blu-Ray drives and burners can augment a spacious hard drive, but one gets what they pay for. Wired and wireless networking is fairly standard on most modern laptops, though there are varying speed grades available.

Shopping For a Pink Notebook Computer For Your Daughter?
Girls will be girls and they love their pink! If they can get it in pink, that is what they want and their computers are no different. When notebooks first came out, you pretty much had to go with black. As they became more and more popular, different colors were added and they quickly became a hit with the kids. It only made sense that a pink notebook computer would hit the market and that the young girls would flock to it.
Some parents may have a little concern that they kids will eventually lose interest in it, but that should not be the case. As they get older, they will probably eventually upgrade anyway. Also, if you are getting them a top of the line machine, there are plenty of companies out there that sell customized skins that they can cover the pink with if they eventually outgrow it.
You should actually take the opposite approach. If they have something that they like, they are probably much more apt to use it then something that disgusts them when they pick it up. What girl would not be proud to show off her new pink notebook computer?
More than likely, if you are getting a pink notebook computer, you are going to be buying it for a teenager ( a little bit more this later), but that is not always the case. It is actually important for them to get used to computers as it is obviously how things are done these days. If they have something that they love, they will use it more and get familiar with word processors and researching subjects on the internet. While she may think it is pretty, she is actually learning how to use this tool to be successful not only in school, but also getting some great training for a real job as just about every profession you can think of involves a compute r in some shape or form.
Now if you are concerned with the quality of the computer that you can get with pink, don't be. Just about every major manufacturer has one in some form or another. Pink notebook computers are actually one of the hottest items on the market right now so companies and making sure they are putting out a quality product.
The funny thing with pink laptops is that as they become more popular, you are actually seeing more and more adults latch onto them. They are not merely for the children as you would initially think. Some people like attention and they will definitely get that. Imagine being out in the park grabbing your lunch and all of a sudden you see some thirty something man flip one of these babies open! Tell me you are not going to take notice.
Whether you are shopping for a pink notebook computer for your daughter or for the little girl in you, you will have a great selection of computer to choose from. Going back only a year or so ago, you were stuck with a below average computer and were paying solely for the unique color. Now you are getting a world class machine that can stand on its own merit. You want something to catch everyone's attention, go get some pink!
